Entering Pharmacy School

I thought the process of entering pharmacy school was interesting, since I had to be able to complete my application on PharmCas. The PharmCas website was super useful due to being able to view various statistics of various pharmacy schools in the United States.

I was surprised by the diversity of pharmacy schools in the United States which included being located various states, public and private schools, number of students per class, and admissions requirements. After deciding on what schools I should I apply to, I decided to start the application process.

The application process involved asking for various forms of personal identifiers, grades from my transcript, my school selection, and letters of recommendations. There was a fee for application for my case paid to PharmCas.

I was able to get three letters from recommendation via email after asking them and informing them regarding my plans. After applying the schools, I surprised by getting the opportunity to being able to be interviewed by all the schools I applied to. I am very thankful.

All my school choices were in California, and the interview process was quite engaging, since the interview was quite holistic. Some commonalities included asking reason for applying to the specific school, why pharmacy as a career, overcoming difficult situations, and a writing or video reviewing portion.

After waiting for interview acceptance or denials, I was accepted by multiple schools, so I decided to view the various campuses. After weighing various factors, I decided to attend USC Mann.

I had orientation the week before classes started which included information on the program, study tips, wellness dogs, campus culture, and a white coat ceremony.
